It’s that time of year again! Tomorrow people from all around the country will be gathering together with their loved ones, eating way too much food, giving thanks, and making memories that last a lifetime. It’s a special time of year that brings us together and reminds us to express what we are thankful for. As a business owner, it is important to let your customers know that you appreciate them, after all, without them you wouldn’t have a business! Saying “Thank you!” is always a great thought, but is typically an expected expression. Going above and beyond the expected really can captivate your customer’s attention and help them feel your gratitude.

Take Time To Listen

Taking extra time to really listen to your customer shows them that they are truly being heard. Sending a handwritten note through snail-mail is a nice touch as well. Whether it’s random, or for a birthday or holiday. Who doesn’t like getting something nice and handwritten in the mail?  

Meet In Person

If you are geographically close to their office, ask them out for a cup of coffee or lunch. We live in a world that is quickly becoming more and more virtual, and much less personal. Though checking in with a client via email, text, or phone call is all well and good; you can easily miss out on so many details and opportunities. Studies have shown that nearly 93% of our communication is conveyed through nonverbal cues (facial expressions, gestures, etc). Communicating with our clients via email and phone limits our ability to communicate and understand their needs. Getting to know them in person will create the best opportunity to build a lasting connection.  

Make Them Feel Included

People love feeling like they are a part of something. Hosting contests or prize giveaways creates a great opportunity to include your clients in something fun. Plus, people love free things! You can even make the prize some swag that’s branded with your company logo. We recently hosted some Halloween contests and it was great to see the creative ideas our clients came up with!

There are tons of ways to show your customers that you appreciate them. All it takes is a little bit of time and thoughtfulness! We believe what sets us apart is our drive to develop personal relationships with those we support. We want to walk through the trenches with our clients and help them reach the top.
